It’s the weekend, finally!
Then you might think to yourself, “this weekend is not going to be long enough.”
That’s no way to start your weekend. To avoid that feeling of dread, take some time on a Friday afternoon to prepare for the week ahead, so that your relief about the upcoming weekend is not coupled with a sense of impending doom about the following week. You’ll feel much better on Monday morning.
What can you do?
Put all of your meetings in your calendar.
Decide what your lunch plan is going to be for the week.
Determine what time blocks you’ll set aside for course prep, grading, writing, etc.
Write down the first task you must accomplish on Monday to get your week off to a productive start.
You can do all of this in less than fifteen minutes on a Friday afternoon. Some people prefer to do it on Sunday night. Do what works for you! Then pat yourself on the back and start your weekend knowing you have your Monday under control.
