In my almost 2 years of working with clients as an editor, I’ve noticed one thing time and time again. Academic writers have great ideas; and when they have the opportunity to put those ideas to paper, they produce excellent work.
Yet, I see so many of my clients doing deadline-driven work. They’re starting their projects at the eleventh hour, paying me steep rush fees to edit quickly, and sending off their manuscripts at the absolute last moment.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
In my time editing, I have also helped clients to develop clearer writing goals and create schedules for their writing. Even clients who were initially resistant to creating schedules began to find that they were writing more and feeling a lot less stress. They were able to organize large projects and take advantage of even short time periods to develop a daily writing practice.
So now I’m taking my show on the road, so to speak. I’m offering my time management coaching not just as an add-on for my editing clients, but for anyone who wants to feel more organized and prepared in their writing. For the month of June, I am offering free coaching sessions for anyone interested in making a writing plan. All you have to do to sign up for a session is click on the link below:

I think one of the biggest obstacles to writing is the anxiety people experience. It leads to stress, self-sabotage, and impostor syndrome. Having a plan in place will alleviate some of that anxiety, and leave you feeling prepared to tackle your writing challenges. I hope that if you don’t have a writing plan you sign up to make one – and share with a friend or colleague that might need this type of support!
